Un Tesorito: La Unica Panaderia

As we have said before, Tierra friends, food is such an important part of  our culture. We eat well, laugh hard, and enjoy buena platica around the table. We love to write about places that have added some rich love to our life. Today we invite you to drive into the East End and head to La Unica Panaderia!! Not only will you be able to find, AMAZING, Mexican bread, you know, the conchas, los cuernitos,  lo ojos, el marranito, but some awesome gorditas too! They will not disappoint, I promise. My mother’s father owned the first Mexican bakery in their pueblo, General Teran, N.L., my mother owns a bakery of her own now...her palate for bread is pretty accurate and La Unica is in her top three.

But what we also love, is the tacos y gorditas they sell! Plus the green salsa they have drives it all home. My favorite, tacos de nopales, gordita de nopales, unos tacos de huevo con chorizo y unas flautas! All family owned, you can see the owners parent’s beautiful black and white photo on their wall. So head on over there and have a nice cold Jarrito de toronja for me.

Provecho y como siempre, thank you for supporting local!
